The Dumpster Of Heaven
The Dumpster of
Heaven
It was a cold and stormy night, and in the mist of the rain were two
Native Americans Hichief and Winston Turtle. They had a long history together,
because they fought in world war two together, were relatives and lived in
Ignacio. Hichief a medium, and cubby looking guy, which always had a twitch in
his left eye. Winston a taller, and broader person who was always looking for a
fight. Both walked side by side on the Farmington
road
“Hey brother” Hichief said,
“What?” Winston said in an angered
voice.
“Remember the time when we didn’t get any fry bread for one whole year,
so we snuck into the kitchen, and made some of our own.”
Winston made a small but soundless chuckle then said “Boy was that
fun."
As they walked amongst each other they grew weary. So they stopped at the
bar hoping to catch the game. But as the night progressed Hichief stumbled out
of the door. Hichief thought Maybe I had
a bit too many. They walked down the road and were fighting to stay on their
feet. Winston looked up into the sky and noticed a very strange cloud hovering
over their heads. Winston still trying to make out the hovering cloud, he
noticed Hichief half passed out on the corner of KFC. Winston finally identified
the cloud he said to Hichief“Hey I think it is going to
rain.”
Hichief not knowing what Winston just said nodded awkwardly. Winston not
second guessing tried running to Hichief, but failed horribly.
When he got to Hichief he said “Get up we need to find shelter.” Seeing
only the dumpster near KFC!
They tripped getting inside of that dumpster. Making great finds while
getting comfortable like dippers and the rare occasion of mashed potatoes
unopened. But as the night passed the soft pitter patter of rain outside, they
slowly started to fall asleep.
“Wake up brother, I think were in heaven” Winston said eagerly.
“How can you tell?” Hichief said.
“Because, every ten minutes a great light appears and chicken falls from
the sky.”
Hichief was blown away, and still not knowing that they were in the dumpster, eagerly
jumped in excitement. For about one hour they lived their dream. Until Winston
finally stood up and then bang! Winston fell to the floor of the dumpster, amazed about what just happened.
Hichief stood up and removed the door.
“Hey brother, I think I know why we are not in heaven.”
“Why!” said Winston,
“Because, if this is heaven then why are we in the dumpster of KFC.”
Winston astonished by the Intel he just got stood up and grew silent as
he saw that Hichief was right. Feeling let down by god he slowly climbed out of
the trash feeling ashamed. As they took the red carpet of
shame.
Hichief said “Well let’s not frown upon this. But embrace the fact that we both created a memory that our
grandchildren will be happy to hear”
